Different ways into a meeting
A meeting bot usually joins a call as a visible participant. A desktop assistant processes the local sources selected by its user. The practical differences include platform integration, permissions, visibility and what happens when someone shares a screen.
When does the output matter?
An archive helps after the call. A live assistant is designed to help while a question is still being discussed. Neither design guarantees correct output: latency and quality depend on capture, transcription, model configuration and context.
Disclosure is part of the workflow
The absence of a bot does not remove recording or assessment rules. Establish what assistance is allowed, tell participants when required and avoid processing information you cannot share with a provider.
